Junior Activities (Nippers)

Junior Activities plays a key role within Surf Life Saving as it is the foundation for the future of our unique organisation. The Surf Life Saving Junior Activities Program (affectionately known as Nippers) has been operating in Queensland since 1968. Our objective is to provide Nippers with the opportunity to learn essential surf safety skills in a fun, safe, family friendly environment. Through participation in team and individual, beach and water activities they will develop self-confidence, make new friends and learn the fundamentals of assessing and negotiating beach conditions.

Main activities include: Sprints; Relays; Flags; Wade (shallow water run); Swim; Board Education on: Personal safety; Basic safety practices; The beach Eco environment; Sun Safety; Surf conditions and hazards; Rescue; Patrol; First Aid; CPR; Signs and Signals; Communications
