Play On! Vouchers

Nipper families are encouraged to take advantage of the Queensland Government's Play On! program (formerly FairPlay).

Nobby's Beach Surf Life Saving Club is a registered Play On! Activity Provider, allowing eligible Queensland children and young people aged 5–17 years to apply for a voucher of up to $200 to help cover membership, registration or participation fees for active recreation activities.

Important Information

If you intend to use a Play On! voucher towards your Nipper membership, please ensure you submit your voucher to the Club as soon as possible.

Memberships cannot be processed until a valid Play On! voucher has been received. If your voucher is not provided, your membership will remain pending until payment is received or the voucher is submitted.

Blue Card Requirements

Nobby's Beach Surf Life Saving Club is committed to providing a safe and inclusive environment for all children and young people.

Under Queensland legislation, and in accordance with Surf Life Saving Queensland (SLSQ) and Surf Life Saving Australia (SLSA) policy, all Active Members aged 18 years and over, and any member who is directly responsible for children, are required to hold a current and valid Blue Card (Working with Children Check).

This includes, but is not limited to:

  • Age Managers

  • Water Safety Personnel

  • Coaches

  • Trainers and Assessors

  • Patrol Captains

  • Youth Program Leaders

  • Board Members and Club Officers

  • Any other member undertaking a child-related role

Your Responsibilities

All members who require a Blue Card must:

  • Hold a current and valid Blue Card.

  • Ensure their Blue Card remains current by renewing it before it expires.

  • Notify the Club immediately if there is any change to their Blue Card status (including suspension, cancellation or expiry).

  • Ensure their Blue Card is linked to Nobby's Beach Surf Life Saving Club.

New or Renewed Blue Cards

If you have recently received a new Blue Card or renewed your existing Blue Card, you must notify the Club by completing the Blue Card Organisation Link Request form below.

Keeping your Blue Card information up to date helps the Club meet its legal obligations and ensures we continue to provide a safe environment for all members and participants.

What’s Included in my membership fees…?

We understand many members and families may be asking this question, so here’s a quick outline as to what/where your membership monies goes to within the Club.

Included in your membership is:

  • Membership with SLSA, SLSQ & Nobby’s Beach SLSC

  • Membership with Nobby’s Beach Surf Club/The Bears (Patrolling Members only)

  • Insurance cover/Workcover protection

  • Surf awareness education and training every Nipper morning (kids – and parents by being on the beach with their children)

  • Outside of Nipper mornings – training with accredited coaches (kids)

  • Opportunity to upskill and attend accredited courses i.e, Bronze Medallion, First Aid, Advanced Resuscitation, Surf Rescue Certificate, IRB Driver/Crew etc.

  • Patrol Uniform replacements (Patrol Members Only)

  • Use of club facilities (State of the art gym and facilities coming 2027)
